The Wall

I used to build the wall
To hide my feelings
I used to build the wall
To keep my heart safe from pain

But when you came
And made me believe
Without the wall
I could still be safe

We remove the wall
Brick by brick
And with every brick removed
My trust for you increased

I was exposed
Naked and vulnerable
But I know with you
I could still be safe

Then there was a blow
With no protection
I was hurt
Without you with me

Now I have to build the wall
To protect me from pain

My feelings are buried
